This Is for You…You Know Who You Are
Apr 22, 2025
You are the protector. The one with a heart wide enough to hold everyone else’s mess and strong enough to stand between them and whatever storm is coming.
You don’t just love...you fight for the people you love. You’ll drop everything to help. You’ll go without sleep, without peace, without acknowledgement. And most of the time, you won’t even say anything about it.
You just show up.
Over and over and over again.
Until it starts to hurt…too much.
Because when your love is expected...but not appreciated...it bruises something sacred inside you.
When people take your kindness and don’t look back… when they treat your care like a convenience or a given…it stings. But you don’t say anything.
At first.
You just keep giving. Keep showing up. Keep pushing down that hurt. Keep hoping they'll notice.
But eventually...something shifts.
The sting becomes a burn. The burn becomes a fire. And that beautiful open heart starts to armor up.
That’s when the anger creeps in.
Not just at them...for not seeing you, not thanking you, not choosing you back.
But at yourself...for caring so much. For letting it matter. For not being able to stop loving even when it hurts.
Anger becomes your shield. It makes you feel strong again. Protected. Unbothered.
But we both know the truth.
You are not unbothered.
You are hurt. Deeply. You’re carrying disappointment that’s hardened into resentment.
Because it’s easier to be angry than to admit your heart is breaking.
And I get it.
Sometimes it feels safer to shut the door. To say, “That’s enough.”
To tell yourself you won’t let them in again, won’t risk loving people who don’t know how to love you back.
But can I remind you of something?
That love in you...the pure, protective, generous love...that’s not your weakness. That’s your gift.
That’s the part of you that heals people. That pulls others out of dark places. That reminds this heavy world what real love looks like.
That’s who you really are.
You are fierce...but tender.
Strong...but soft.
Tired...but still trying.
And you deserve better.
You deserve to be loved as deeply as you love.
To be appreciated without asking.
To be checked on...not just when someone needs something, but just because you matter.
But until the people in your life figure that out...and I hope they do...please don’t close your heart.
Please don’t let the anger turn you into someone you’re not.
Please don’t let the ones who didn’t see your light convince you it’s not worth shining.
Let them grow. Let them come to their own understanding. Let them miss you, love you, learn from their own timing.
But you?
You keep being you.
You are the one who changes lives.
You are the one who makes people feel safe and seen.
You are the reason someone still believes in good.
And I see you.
So here’s the compliment you may not hear...but absolutely deserve:
You are not too much. You are a miracle. A force. A light. And the world needs more of you, not less.
Love is ALL there is,
Diana
